One of Kaiser Permanente Washington's strengths is the value that comes from our ability to provide high-quality, affordable care and coverage through our Kaiser Permanente facilities featuring Kaiser Permanente clinicians and care teams. We continue working with many highly valued health systems and thousands of contracted providers across the state who share our commitment to affordable, high-quality care and services. However, MultiCare Health System providers and facilities will no longer be part of our HMO and Medicare Advantage networks in the Spokane market as of January 1, 2022. This change impacts members who receive care at MultiCare Rockwood Clinic, and Deaconess and Valley Hospital facilities. Nothing changes today and care will not be disrupted. This network change goes into effect on January 1, 2022.
High-touch support for members
Patients getting care from a MultiCare provider will receive a letter from MultiCare and Kaiser Permanente letting them know about this upcoming network change. Kaiser Permanente is also sending a separate letter to these members with more details about choices available to them. We are eager to connect with members to ensure they don’t experience any disruption to their care and to offer support as they choose new in-network providers. While the changes don’t go into effect until January 1, 2022, we’ve already established a dedicated phone line for these members that is now available. Members can call 1-877-808-9224 (TTY 711), Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Medicare members can call 1-888-901-4600 (TTY 711), Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
As always, and at any point provider networks are updated, Kaiser Permanente is fully prepared to meet our members' care needs. We're eager to welcome them to our 5 conveniently located, multiservice medical centers with nearly 100 providers in the Spokane area. Our care delivery options continue to grow — from primary care to specialty care — and include an expanding range of virtual care choices. Kaiser Permanente also continues to work with many health systems throughout the region that remain available to our members. For example, our networks include the Providence health system, which has long been a preferred provider delivering cardiology, pulmonology, nephrology care, and more.
High-quality care for patients
Our care delivery and effectiveness, as well as our physician group, are constantly highly rated by various reputable, independent organizations because we are laser-focused on quality and affordability. We continue to extend our reach with more facilities and an ever-growing menu of virtual care services that make care accessible from almost anywhere. Likewise, our provider networks feature health systems that reflect these high standards and our commitment to the patients we all serve.
