Please complete the Application for Appointment and return it to the Kaiser Permanente Washington Producer Operations team by email at brokerappt.commission@kp.org. We’ll respond with our decision within 5 business days.

All appointments require the following:

  • State of Washington producer disability license
  • Errors & Omissions liability coverage – $1 million per occurrence / $1 million annual aggregate
  • Ability to meet and maintain a minimum production standard of 25 members within 12 months from the date of appointment

It is illegal in the state of Washington to act on behalf of a health carrier as a producer without a license and appointment. No agency producer has the authority to 1) guarantee that Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington or Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington Options, Inc., will accept an application for health coverage; or 2) contract on behalf of Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington or Kaiser Foundation Health Plan of Washington Options, Inc.

Note for Medicare Advantage sales: Kaiser Permanente Washington has paused direct appointments for new agencies and independent producers.  Producers may work with existing KPWA Medicare-appointed agencies to be added as an affiliated agent. Prior to marketing KPWA Medicare Advantage plans, producers must complete the Kaiser Permanente CMS Medicare Sales Training program and receive Kaiser Permanente Washington ready-to-sell approval. Newly added affiliated agents have 60 days to request and complete the Kaiser Permanente CMS Medicare Sales Training program. After the first 60 days, the Medicare sales training program must be completed annually between mid-August and October 1.
