New medical office opens in Seattle’s South Lake Union neighborhood

Our new South Lake Union Medical Office opened on May 28, providing primary care, mental health and wellness, physical therapy, chiropractic, and lab services to Kaiser Permanente members. The facility is located at 210 9th Ave. N., near the intersection of Westlake Avenue and Denny Way.

Extended hours and innovative services

Our newest medical office offers walk-in care and extended hours (Monday through Thursday, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., and Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.). The hours cater to residents and employees in the area who need flexible access to care due to work schedules and lifestyles. Like all Kaiser Permanente members, residents and employees in the South Lake Union neighborhood also have access to our virtual care options, including Care Chat and online visits.

Staff at the South Lake Union Medical Office include “health care guides” who combine the skills and responsibilities of medical assistants and health coaches. These individuals take patients to exam rooms, answer questions, schedule appointments, and even provide health coaching. And because many of the residents and employees in the neighborhood are new to the area, a community resource specialist is available to help members find the health-related services they need.

Pharmacy services at our South Lake Union Medical Office include 2-hour delivery to offices or homes in the Seattle area, and prescription refills via mail order.

More new facilities opening soon

Kaiser Permanente continues to invest in our members and communities in Washington state. In December 2018, we opened a new medical office in Gig Harbor, and we’re scheduled to open medical facilities in Ballard, West Olympia, and Smokey Point in the coming year.
