Kaiser Permanente Washington has evaluated prescription drug benefits available to all fully insured small and large group clients and has determined that all of our health plans provide creditable prescription drug coverage. A health plan’s prescription drug coverage is creditable if it is as good or better than Medicare Part D.
Employers that offer prescription drug coverage to Medicare-eligible individuals must report their prescription drug plans’ creditability status to their Medicare-eligible beneficiaries and to the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services.
Kaiser Permanente Washington’s creditability status is also included in the 2020 proposal documents made available with each large group’s renewal.
To learn more about the notification requirements, review our Creditable Coverage: The Basics flyer.
