Kaiser Permanente volunteers support free care in Washington

Nearly 130 Kaiser Permanente providers and employees volunteered at the Seattle/King County Clinic February 15 to 18 at the Seattle Center. The annual 4-day clinic provides necessary care to anyone in Washington who struggles to access or afford health care, including families, seniors, LGBTQ+ people, veterans, low-income earners, immigrants and refugees, and people experiencing homelessness.

This year, volunteers for the clinic served 2,900 patients who received dental, vision, and medical care at no cost from 100 partner organizations. Patients were also referred to community resources and clinical follow-up services — including cataract surgery and vision care at Kaiser Permanente.

“It’s in these moments, side by side with dedicated volunteers, that our mission to care for the communities we serve, truly comes to life,” said Angela Dowling, regional president for Kaiser Permanente Washington.

Kaiser Permanente has been a dedicated supporter of the clinic since 2014 by providing grant funding and support in sourcing much of the needed supplies and equipment.

“The Seattle/King County Clinic is a shining example of community solidarity,” said Linda Tolbert, MD, executive medical director of Washington Permanente Medical Group. “Witnessing the expanse of its impact during my visit was truly inspiring. The clinic demonstrates how collective compassion transforms into impactful action, providing vital care to those in need.”

Kaiser Permanente’s mission is to improve the health of our members and the communities we serve. We’re proud to support the Seattle/King County Clinic’s work to increase access to comprehensive care for low-income and uninsured populations.

The next clinic will be held in April 2025. To learn more, visit the Seattle/King County Clinic website.
