Individual and family open enrollment reminders: 2022 sales kits and enrollment dates

Kaiser Permanente Washington 2022 individual and family sales kits are available for order and scheduled to start shipping October 18, 2021. New 2022 materials are also now available on kp.org/wa/producer-kpif. The 2022 open enrollment (on- and off-exchange) is:

• November 1 to December 15 for a January 1 effective date
• December 16 to January 15 for a February 1 effective date

For faster enrollment (and to ensure complete enrollment), use the agent online portal. Sign in to kp.org/wa/agentcenter or register at kp.org/wa/agentcenter‑register to sign up new clients.

When getting your clients get ready for open enrollment, please keep in mind:

  • Use the Account Change Form for existing off-exchange clients who need to make changes to their policy.
  • Washington Healthplanfinder is where existing on-exchange clients can make changes to their policy or existing off-exchange clients can switch to on-exchange plans.
  • Producer of record will roll over from 2021 to 2022 if there is no gap in coverage. If there is a gap, a completed producer of record form will be required to re-establish the producer of record.
  • Using a paper application? Double check each section to ensure everything is completed and to avoid slowing down the enrollment process.
  • Note the new mailing address and fax number when sending in enrollment documents such as the application, Account Change Form, and documentation for SEP enrollment:
    • Kaiser Permanente Individuals and Families:
      P.O. Box 23127, San Diego, CA 92193-9921
      Fax number: 1-855-355-5334
  • Clients enrolling with dependents 18 and younger, off-exchange, will need to enroll in a dental plan that offers pediatric dental coverage. This is an ACA and Washington state requirement. Outreach is scheduled for February 2022 to remind members of the requirement if no dental is selected during open enrollment. Learn more about pediatric dental plans
  • As of January 1, 2021, eligibility for medical coverage was changed to allow dependents of an individual and family plan who turn 26 to remain enrolled until the end of the plan year (instead of coverage terming at the end of the month they turned 26). Unfortunately, the same update was not available for our 2021 adult/family dental plan. However, this will be changing for 2022. Effective January 1, 2022, if a family has elected to enroll in the adult/family dental plan along with their medical plan, any dependents who turn 26 during the plan year can retain their dental coverage until the end of the plan year (versus coverage ending the month they turn 26).
