COVID-19 vaccines for children 6 months to 5 years

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) has approved the use of updated COVID-19 vaccines for children 6 months to 5 years. We’re now scheduling updated vaccine appointments for this age group. Visit kp.org for appointment availability. Vaccine appointments with other providers can be found at vaccines.gov. Also note:

COVID-19 antigen tests are now available from the federal government

The federal government has restarted its program to deliver 4 free self-tests per household. The free tests can be ordered at covid.gov/tests.

Stay safe this winter

COVID-19, respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), and flu cases are rising fast in our communities. It’s important to recognize cold, flu, or COVID-19 symptoms. If members are still unsure if they have a cold, flu, or COVID-19, they should start with a COVID-19 home antigen test. Members should also:

  • Get the updated COVID-19 booster and a flu shot.
  • Strongly consider wearing a mask in indoor public places.
  • Continue to practice healthy habits such as washing hands and staying home when sick.
  • Consider taking a home antigen test before gathering with friends and family. Home antigen tests can be ordered through the federal government or on kp.org.

Ways to get care

As COVID-19, the flu, and RSV continue to impact our communities, advice on ways to get care can be found at kp.org. Members can also call 1-877-808-9233 (TTY 711) (available in English and Spanish) 24/7 for regular recorded updates.
