Congress has repealed the Health Insurance Provider (HIP) fee effective January 1, 2021. We’ve updated our pricing and quoting systems to reflect this change.
Large group (fully insured)
- January 2020 effective dates: no impact
- February through December 2020 effective dates: rates will be recalculated to reflect the prorated amount of the HIP fee for months that fall in 2021, as applicable
Small group and individual and family plans
- 2020 rates were developed and filed with the Office of the Insurance Commissioner in 2019. Our 2021 rates will reflect the HIP fee repeal.
