The Medicare Advantage annual enrollment period (AEP) is ending soon. Please ensure that your client enrollments are received by Kaiser Permanente on or before the December 7 AEP deadline. Also keep in mind that mailing time frames are often longer due to post office delays during the holidays. After mid-November, we strongly suggest enrolling online, by fax, or through secure email.
Note: The 5-Star special enrollment period (SEP) is still in effect through November 30 for a December 1 effective date. There is no 5-Star SEP for 2023 Kaiser Permanente plan year enrollments.
For those enrolled in a Medicare Advantage plan, the Medicare Advantage open enrollment period (MA OEP) offers another opportunity to make a change between January 1 and March 31, 2023. For example, if members missed AEP — or they’re not happy with the plan they've chosen — MA OEP allows them one plan change. They can also drop Medicare Advantage to opt for Original Medicare with or without a prescription drug plan.
