In light of the COVID-19 special enrollment period that’s now underway for individual and family (I&F) plans, Kaiser Permanente is extending the new enrollee sales bonus program that was originally specific to January 1, 2021, new sales. The extended program includes new individual sales on and off the exchange with effective dates between January 1, 2021, and June 1, 2021.
How will the extended program work?
Agencies that enroll a minimum of 30 new I&F members with effective dates between January 1, 2021, and June 1, 2021, will be eligible to earn rewards in the extended bonus program. Enrollees include both subscribers and dependents.
To qualify as a new enrollee, members were not covered by Kaiser Permanente Washington the month prior to their effective date, they’ve been enrolled for at least one month, and they’ve paid their premium for the period of time they’ve been enrolled. See our program flyer for more details.
When are payouts scheduled for the bonus program?
The extended I&F new enrollee bonus program will conclude at the end of the day on May 15, 2021. Agencies that qualify for rewards can expect a payout in September of this year. This gives us time to ensure that all new individual sales with effective dates between January 1, 2021, and June 1, 2021, are included, taking into consideration the length of time new enrollees have to pay their first month’s premium.
