Group size verification begins this month

Starting this month, we will begin contacting our mutual group clients with 200 or fewer employees to verify their group size. Confirming that businesses continue to fit in the category of a large or small group employer will ensure accurate Affordable Care Act compliance reporting for medical loss ratio and risk adjustment. This is in alignment with state and federal requirements.

How group size will be verified

Groups will be contacted 6 months before their renewal date and asked to complete an online group size attestation form. For example, groups with a September 2019 renewal date will receive a communication from us via email or U.S. mail in March 2019.

It’s important that we verify group size in advance of an employer’s next renewal date so our clients have time to consider plan options, make benefit decisions, and conduct open enrollment activities. Employers will have 30 days to complete and return the online form. This will ensure that we’re able to release their upcoming renewal package without delay.
