COVID-19 vaccinations are now being administered

An extremely limited number of COVID-19 vaccine doses have started arriving at Kaiser Permanente facilities, and we are currently administering the vaccine to people who meet Phase 1a eligibility. Phased eligibility varies from state to state. In Washington state, Phase 1a includes high-risk workers in health care settings, high-risk first responders, and residents and staff at skilled nursing facilities and other community-based living facilities for individuals 65 and older.

Individuals who are eligible can get the vaccine from any provider that has been approved as a COVID-19 vaccine distributor by Washington's State Department of Health. Kaiser Permanente is an approved vaccine provider in every market we serve. For more details on eligibility, please see Washington’s guidelines.

Due to the limited quantities of vaccines, a limited number of vaccine appointments are currently available. Members who believe they are eligible to receive the vaccine in Phase 1a should sign in to kp.org/wa and complete an e-visit.

If the e-visit determines that the member is eligible for vaccination in Phase 1a, they will be directed to a website where they can make appointments for the first and second doses of the vaccination. Members who don’t have access to a computer may call 1-800-352-3610 for assistance.

Expanding eligibility coming soon

As vaccine supplies increase over the next few weeks and months, we’ll provide the vaccine to additional groups according to federal and state guidelines.

No-cost COVID-19 treatment extended

Kaiser Permanente has extended its commitment to providing all medically necessary treatment for COVID-19 at no cost to all fully insured members. The extension runs at least through March 31, 2021, or as long as the ongoing national public health emergency lasts.

Continue taking precautions to stay safe

It will likely take several months to achieve widespread vaccination. Kaiser Permanente’s infectious disease experts and clinicians ask that people continue to wear a face covering, wash their hands frequently, stay 6 feet apart — and be sure to get a flu shot.
